SERVICE AREA: Primarily serving Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake Counties
MISSION: Provide consumer-driven services and advocacy which empower individuals with disabilities to lead self-directed and inclusive lives in the community.
PROGRAMS: Founded in 1980, SIL provides individual and community services designed to empower individuals with disabilities to lead healthy, productive lives and participate in community life. SIL’s array of services are guided by the philosophy of consumer choice and control, which in turn supports the agency’s vision of a society that is accessible to all. Examples of SIL’s services include: ADA/Accessibility Services, Advocacy, Community Education/Professional Development Programs, Home Modification and Assistive Devices Program, Independent Living Skills Training, Information and Referral, Personal Care Assistance Services, Transportation, and Youth and Nursing Home Transition Supports.
